Use the checklist to check minimum hardware and software requirements for Oracle RAC.
Microsoft recently introduced Hyper-v with Windows 2008 Server. In order to determine the overhead of running Oracle on Hyper-v we performed a benchmark on identical hardware using both Hyper-v and a non-virtual server using Oracle 10g for Windows. The resulting whitepaper is available for download from our website: www.perftuning.com. Hyper-V is rated 8.2, while Oracle VM is rated 7.6. The top reviewer of Hyper-V writes 'Improves security and uptime, and the VMM gives you full control over many resources'. On the other hand, the top reviewer of Oracle VM writes 'Low cost robust VM soln with ability to.
It is assumed that the servers were prepared as described in the Oracle Grid Infrastructure Installation Guide for your platform.
